    Hi,

I have been booking our InnoVint subscription charges to our g & a software subscriptions account. Should they be in the winemaking cost pool instead? Winemaking supplies?
    Thanks!

    Hi Val,
Since you have been booking it to G&A Software subscriptions, I would go ahead and leave it there. Typically we recommend booking this to Winemaking Misc Expenses (not supplies), because it is a “tool” needed by the winemaking team. However, an important part of the function of InnoVint is to handle the costing, and that is an overhead cost.

For this type of expense, be consistent and leave it in G&A Software.

    Cheers!

    Hi Jeanette,

    Thank you for the reply.
We will leave the expense in G&A. Should we leave it there forever? Or switch to Winemaking in January of 2025?
    Best,

    Hi Val,
Let’s have a look at that expense relative to the total cellar cost pool at the end of the year. If the cost does not significantly affect the Cellar Overhead Rate then it would be OK to move it to winemaking in 2025. The key thing is to be consistent when you create your 2025 budget.

    Cheers!
